“The caring role is something we often take for granted. When a family member falls ill or has an ailment or disability, their loved ones naturally become their caregivers. The caregiver provides not only the physical care, but also the emotional support which is so critical at such times. Caregivers are unsung heroes. Their efforts have allowed their dependents to continue living at home in familiar settings. Most of them struggle to balance family responsibility of being a spouse, parent, sibling as well as a caregiver. Some have to balance work with caregiving…”
…Mr Chan Soo Sen, former Minister of State, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, at the official launch of Caregivers’ Week 2004 by TOUCH.

TOUCH Community Services
recognises the important role of caregivers in society, and understands that they, too, need help and support. Officially opened by Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, the then Minister of State for Ministry of National Development, on 14 October 2002 at Toa Payoh Lorong 1, TOUCH Caregivers Centre was set up as an information resource centre to offer practical help and advice to individuals who are caregivers to the disabled or the elderly.

In 2006, TOUCH Caregivers Centre was renamed TOUCH Caregivers Support (TCG) - in tandem with TCG streamlining its focus and support to caregivers of the frail, homebound elderly. Moving beyond an information and referral resource provider, TCG now focuses on developing and delivering a plethora of home-based and support services to better support these caregivers, and value-add to the current services available in the market.

TCG can support the caregiver in the following ways:

No more long queues and stressful logistics of organising a trip to the clinic or hospital.

Gives you peace of mind with an experienced and professional team caring for you and your loved one.

Improves your quality of life through a team that is here to support you!
